A day for close encounters of the moose kind.

Spotted a moose in the low riverbed along the roadway. Parked. Got out and went to the top of the riverbed to look down. There she was nibbling on some spring willow buddings. We began photographing when her partner stepped up within 15 ft of Mike. Neither noticed the other until I called out to Mike. Both Moose and Mike retreated. Shortly after that two young blacktail deer were eating greens not 25 ft beside the roadway. Found the most unusual sight today... A Canadian goose perched atop a tall large dead tree with webbed feet wrapped around the spiky tips of the broken old tree. Quacking away as it stayed there.

I took this shot before he knew Mike and I were closely.
