Oklahoma... Oct 2, 2014
So when I awoke this morning in Kansas the sky was full of rolling dark clouds and rain in the distance. I scurred around and hooked everything up outside first to beat the rain and wind. Then on to the inside preperations to set sail for a calmer place. I left without making coffee, although by 20 minutes into the drive I did pull over to buy one for the road. I had wind most of the way but very little rain. Saw some swirly cloud formations but I guess no danger of a "touchdown". Then I reached Oklahoma, settled in to clear blue skies and sunshine once again. Set out on a home depot run and asked around for the best Oklahoma City steakhouse. All agreed that "Cattlemen Steakhouse" was the place to go so I drove back into the city 20 minutes to find this place. My little old GPS didn't help much. %#@!&* thing. I found it in an area called Stockyard City. Yup ,right next to where the areas cattle are bought and sold. This place has been there a very, very long time. Since cattle drives I think. Anyway after I got past the location, ambience and patrons... I actually had the BEST steak of my life. The 10oz Filet mignon was so tender, juicy and tasteful. You should go for the food if you make it here. I'm on the road again tomorrow. I have about two weeks to go so I'm on the move. Today I started going directly south for a change. Goodnight :)
