The warm gulf coast of Florida... Oct 8, 2014

Pensecola FL area

I seemed to fly right through mississippi and Alabama today. Of course the coastal routes are the narrowest parts of both states. Upon entering Mississippi this morning I could have sworn I saw Elvis. You'll see what I mean in the photos. The landscape changes again, from swampy to sea grassy as I continued. Still so much water under the roadway. That is until I hit Mobile, Alabama were I encountered my first tunnel of the trip. I'm sure I drove below sea level for the first and hopefully last time. Upon arrival to Pensacola I promptly un hitched ( Sorry... I just came from Houston). I un hooked my car from the motorhome and drove into the city and across the 3 mile long bridge to get to the Gulf Island to place my feet into the water and take a photo or two of the white sands. It felt good to reach Florida today! I've only 500 miles to go so I will slow it down tomorrow. I'll travel the coastline and stop where I can or wish. My friend Keith called today and suggested Panama City so I'm going to take him up on it.  ~Link to Mississipi and Alabama Photos~
