Rolling out of Skowhegan... Sept 14, 2014

Hooked up and rolling out

Today I officially began my journey across middle america. After many small tasks getting started this morning I fueled up my 100 gallon gas tank and filled the propane leaving Skowhegan just after 10 am. Somewhere along I-95  I heard a loud noise above me and thought that just wasn't right. I quickly looked in my side view mirrors and rearview camera to see the bonnet for my front air condition rolling along the edge of the highway. It was broken and shattered so I decided not to stop until I reached the next rest stop. Stopping in the Kennebunk, Maine rest stop I also had lunch and put air in the front tires. The rest of the trip to Bristol was uneventful, other than two areas of high traffic and a stop and go pace. My GPS added 12 minutes to my trip due to the traffic before the traffic slowed down. ( how did it know?).

Upon arrival to the Farslow home I was appropriately greeted by Mike and Debbie. We maneuvered the motorhome onto the from lawn and powered it up. Dinner was served shortly after that. Thanks Debbie for the hospitality you have shown to this weary traveler.

I will be sleeping well tonight and dreaming of tomorrows photo adventure with Mike to the fish ponds that entice Eagles and Ospreys to show there talent for catching breakfast. Oh... and a new air conditioner bonnet purchase. (300 miles today in 5hrs ,15min from Skowhegan, ME to Bristol CT)
